When you think about C1s, chances are you consider them as quaint and peppy little sports cars done up in metallic paint and lustrous interiors, with polished wheels and glossy tires that all proclaim “trailer queen” or collector’s item. We happened to find one on Hemmings that, according to the seller, could potentially go in a different direction.

Adorned with stripes, numbers, workhorse wheels, and even a dash of electrical tape on the headlamps, it’s clear that this particular Vette has more of a racing persona about it. Fear not, however, as the seller states that the car has “never been entered in competition from what we can tell. So it hasn’t lived a hard life on the track and instead has just been spending the last decade or so running around the Carolina hills.”

Should the next owner decide to go full-bore with a track car project, the car already has plenty of kit to make it a worthwhile investment: 327ci V8 with Hooker headers and a Holley double pumper carb, four-speed manual transmission, 4.11:1 rearend, and so on round out a few of the performance features.

If he decides the car should revert back to a stock-looking yet magnificent show car/cruiser, he already has the grille, an empty trunk, and a hard top to start with. There’s also the factory instrument cluster and period-correct bucket seats to boot.
