There is no hiding the fact that we love a great looking truck, and this 1971 Chevy C10 fits the requirement. From the tilting front end to the absolutely show-stopping interior, this truck is what we’re all about. Even with its good looks, this beauty is still a work in progress and Bruce Blackburn of Vancouver, Washington still wants to do some things to clean things up under the hood. But, for the most part, this is a stunning truck that’s ready to drive and hit the show field!

Bruce has owned the truck for nearly 12-years, and as you can imagine, it wasn’t anything like this when he got it. He has done a lot of work to get this hauler dialed-in and ready to show off. “The truck came with the tilt front end,” Bruce said. “Everything else was stock.”

“It was a Magenta, and it really needed a paint job. I was going through the shop where I was having it painted and I saw this blue color on another car,” Bruce explained. After seeing the blue, there was no question what his truck was going to look like after a coat of paint. It looks nice in these pictures, but to appreciate the depth of the blue and the smooth and glassy bodywork, you definitely need to see it in person.

The bodywork and paint was done by Northwest Auto Design of Vancouver, Washington, and they did a great job lining things up and really making the truck look nice. Not only did they do the exterior work though, they also did the upholstery and built the engine in the truck.

There is still quite a bit of clean-up work to do, but that’s minor compared to everything that’s already been done. At this point, Bruce is ready to drive it!

The drivetrain on this show-ready driver is a 383 cubic-inch small-block with a roller cam, and the transmission is a 700R4, and the rearend is 3.50 geared. With that drivetrain, it’ll get up and go for sure, but with the four-speed automatic transmission and 3.50 gearing, this is also a very comfortable cruiser that’s not taching out the engine RPM on the highway. “My favorite thing about it is the way it drives,” Bruce told us. Beyond just the engine, the ride has been enhanced with an upgraded suspension, traction bars, and it’s also been lowered. It even has cruise control!

The interior of this truck is really one of our favorite things about it. The rich, tan color really compliments the blue exterior, and the matching headliner is a nice touch. Classic trucks usually just have a painted roof on the inside. The custom console is also a really nice addition, and the entire look of the interior is clean and gorgeous. As if it wasn’t nice enough, the dash has been upgraded with a full compliment of Dakota Digital instruments, and a tilt-steering column with a Grant wheel add a morn touch.

The next step in the process for Bruce is to add an airbag suspension to the truck. After that, he is going to finish the interior with a full dash cover and then remove the front end to clean things up under the hood and paint the firewall blue to match the body. While there is still some work for Bruce to take care of, for the most part, this is beauty of a cruiser and she’s ready for show!
