There are a number of hot new custom car builds coming out of Tom Argue Design in Clearwater, Florida, including Fords, Chevys and Mopars.

Among the custom car builds at Tom Argue Design are this 1968 Mustang pro touring build. Check out the rather large wheel flare and custom headlight bezel.
Long known as one of the south’s premier vehicle fabricators, among the custom car builds we found are a ’68 Mustang, a ’55 Chevy with a full frame and an IRS, a ’68 Charger and a ’66 Chevelle.
The Mustang has a Ford Performance Parts Aluminator 5.2 XS, which makes 580 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque stock, but this example is topped by a Whipple supercharger. Stopping it will be some big ol’ Baer brakes.

The Aluminator 52XS was the factory powerplant in the Shelby GT350; this one got a Whipple supercharger to ensure there is no shortage of horsepower.
The ’55 Chevy is getting a full Speedtech frame, with an independent rear and a blown Wegner 427 under the hood.
A supercharged Wegner Automotive 427 will send power for the 1955 Chevy to a Speedtech independent rear suspension.
If Tri-Fives are not your thing, how about a ’66 Chevelle with a supercharged LT5 and 10-speed automatic? This is the Chevrolet Performance crate version of the 6.2-liter engine found in the 2019 Corvette ZR1. It made 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque stock. It, too, will get a full Speedtech frame.

There’s still lots of work to be done, but the supercharged LT5 crate engine is a giveaway that this will be one heck of a car when it’s finished.
For you Mopar nuts, there’s a black ’68 Charger with a Red Eye Gen-III HEMI and upgraded supercharger. Yes, it’s getting a Speedtech chassis.
An upgraded supercharger tops the Challenger Red Eye Gen-III HEMI going in this '68 Dodge Charger. The front clip is from Speedtech.
Watch this space carefully in the future, as we’ll be featuring the coolest custom car builds as they happen from around the country.
