We haven’t seen a hatchback Mustang since the Fox body era which ended back in ’93. Not all Mustang enthusiasts are fans of every model. Some may prefer one model, but not another. Some guys and gals are hardcore Fox body fans, and within that category some may prefer a hatchback over a notch.

What if we brought the hatchback back for the S550 Mustang? A S550 Mustang hatchback or shooting brake? You know, get rid of that sleek fastback body line and add a big, bubbly booty. Thoephilus Chin created this rendering, which has been done rather well, while trying to create a shooting brake. The car is not our cup of tea -unless you like big butts and you cannot lie.

It looks a bit (or a lot) strange with the super long nose and big ol’ rear. The proportions are way off and check out that huge C-pillar. We can’t really see it as something we’d ever see on the road, but who knows what Ford, or some intrepid customizer, may have up its sleeve in the future. We aren’t sure it is something we would rock, but someone out there just might.

How about a rendering of the notch such as the I, II and III Mustang generation models? RAM mentioned such an idea in the comments and now we are curious to see how that would look.
