Lemons Headers Offers Advice Through Their Installation Tips Page

When it comes to high-performance race cars, nothing quite gives your car the audible presence like a good pair of headers. Lemons Headers couldn’t agree more and works hard to produce high-quality performance headers to meet your every need, whether it’s a purer sound you’re after or scraping up a bit more power. And no matter what the reason for the new pipes, Lemons wants to make sure you get the best out of your new headers by installing them correctly. Thanks to Lemons’ Installation Tips, you’ll be enjoying your new Lemons Headers the way they were intended.

Available for countless Chevy Small Block, Big Block and pro-touring applications, as well as street rod, Fox body Mustang and even some drag boat applications, Lemons Headers have been used on some of the finest racers to date.

That’s because their high quality exhaust components are made specifically for your application, giving you not only a better sound but also better performance.

As the company’s home page states, their headers have also been known to give cars more horsepower, better track times, and a case of “Wheelstandus-Gigantisis.” If all those “symptoms” are okay with you, Lemons Headers are for you.

Helping you get the best experience with your Lemons Headers is the company’s own installation tips page on their website. From recommending a proper high-temp anti-seize for header bolts and slip-on collector mounting bolts, to advice on how to deal with overspray issues on coated headers, this tip page addresses some of the most common issues you might come across in your installation. Lemons also offers a variety of helpful supplies for purchase right on their tips page.

First off, Lemons recommends using either a flat fiber-type gasket, or an annealed copper gasket. Don’t use a copper-embossed gasket unless they send it with your order, and then use a high-temp silicone to help seal them. High-temp anti-seize should also be used on the header bolts, to make taking them off a lot easier down the road.

If you ordered race-style headers with individual header tubes, Lemons recommends you leave the bolts loose as you install them, until all the collectors are installed. This allows for some much-needed wiggle room. These are the main tips Lemons has to offer, though there are other ideas you might find handy for your particular application, so check their site out.

Whether you’re upgrading to the latest offerings from Lemons or preparing to install your first set of Lemons Headers, the company tip page is a helpful source to make the installation and use of your headers go smoothly. After all, the less time you have to spend in the garage problem solving, the quicker you can get to those faster track times and wheel stands we talked about.
