These days, a first-generation Camaro and a LS powerplant go together like peas and carrots. Or peanut butter and jelly. Or [insert your own analogy here]. We’ve seen them time and again, but it’s a recipe that never grows old. Recently, one of our readers, Cass Hemme, sent a Mecum Auctions link of this car over to us in hopes that we would share it with you. Turns out, it actually belongs to a buddy of his, Chris Petersen, and was built by Jon’s Body Shop in Concordia, Missouri.
Even though a lot of love and attention went into the build of this F-body, Petersen has decided to cut her loose to make way for a new project. We thought the car was more deserving than some lame “shared link,” and decided to do a little writeup on it for all of you! After all, what’s not to love about a badass, LS-swapped 1st-Gen Camaro anyway?
A Thunder Racing True Torq camshaft a set of Doug’s Headers, and dual stainless mufflers round out the performance modifications done to the 2000 Camaro-spec LS1, while a 6-speed manual transmission is responsible for gear selection. There are tons of other custom touches done to this Camaro, such as 4-wheel disc brakes, 18 and 20-inch Foose wheels, HID headlights, LED taillights, and a custom interior that features red and black leather trim, a Kenwood sound system with GPS, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Vintage Air a/c unit.
If you’re interested in parking this car on your driveway, then check out the Mecum auction in Kansas City on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 to place your bid! Because whoever lands this car will end up with one sweet ride!
