Moser Engineering’s Replacement Trailing Arm Kit for 1960-72 Chevy C10s.

Moser is well known for its rearends and axles, but its ability to support enthusiasts spreads out beyond rears and axles. Case in point: Moser’s Replacement Trailing Arm Kit for  1960-72 Chevy C10s (Part #76072TRA). 

Before Chevrolet shifted to leaf spring rear suspensions with the third generation C/K series light trucks in 1973, the trend was coil spring rear suspension. The coil spring suspension offered more range of suspension movement while allowing the user a wider tuning range by changing coils springs. Practically all high-performance applications use coil springs when possible. Purpose-built race cars like those in the NASCAR series still use coil springs and truck arms to this day.

The biggest drawback to the original C10 truck arms has been degradation through age. The flat metal pressed channels were likely riveted together fifty years ago. And, they are simply not equal to the modern manufacturing and materials of today.  

Moser’s Upgrade Kit

This is where Moser’s Replacement Trailing Arm Kit for 1960-72 Chevy C10s shine as an upgrade and replacement to the stock trailing arms. According to Moser literature, these trailing arms were manufactured to complement the Moser Performance rearends. It wasn’t long before enthusiasts figured out these trailing arms could also be used with the OEM housing and suspension components.

In fact, just replacing the trailing arms alone adds an extra dimension to a build. This can allow a builder to either step up quickly or slowly build your project over time if needed. The kit is built to handle all the power a stock-style suspension can handle and then some. It includes new U-bolts, coil spring cups, bushings, emergency brake brackets, and all the hardware needed to bolt in. The basic kit is priced online at $660 and usually ships 3 to 5 days after order completion.

The trailing arms are made in Portland, Indiana, and can be ordered in several different powdercoated colors. Flat black, gloss black, and semi-gloss black is available at no extra charge. Mirror Red, Silver, Speedway Black, Speedway Gray, and Chevy Orange are available for a $25 upgrade fee. Moser Red and Silver Sparkle (silver flake) are a $100 extra charge.
