When it comes to restoring a classic Chevy, getting the details right is key to a good-looking car. Many times, it’s the small things that get overlooked. Other times, it’s not that something was overlooked, it’s that a new piece couldn’t be located. When it comes to parts that are typically not available, a reproduction Camaro steering wheel was definitely at the top of the list – at least they were. Take for instance the Rosewood wheels found in many 1969 Chevy cars. This highly-sought-after optional wheel is now in great demand by many enthusiasts.

Luckily, now you can get a reproduction of the original Rosewood steering wheel, which was available as part of the optional N34 package on 1969 models. This steering wheel was originally referred to by the factory as Woodgrain Plastic Rim Sport Style Steering Wheel. Speaking of wood, a walnut example is also available.

The wheels will give you the appearance, feel, and status of the originals, without the high cost of an original or NOS steering wheel — which have been known to fetch many thousands of dollars in the collector’s market. The latest manufacturing methods are utilized to ensure these reproductions are as close as possible to the original steering wheels, featuring authentic simulated-wood wrapped around brushed aluminum center spokes.

Another hard to find steering wheel was the 1971 through ’81 Sport steering wheel. The all-new, reproduction GM four-spoke Sport steering wheel was designed for many various 1971 through 1981 GM models with the NK4 steering wheel option. This reproduction wheel features a soft black padding, original-grain material, and a four-spoke design. Each wheel is manufactured to exact specifications, and the steering wheel center cap and emblem are available separately.

The Z/28 “rope-style” Sport steering wheel reproduction is for use on 1977 through 1981 Camaro Z/28 models. Each steering wheel is manufactured to correct OE specifications, and includes the special simulated rope-wrap wheel design. Replacing the steering wheel can add the finishing touches to a second-generation restoration. Although this steering wheel is an original design for the 1977 through 1981 Z/28 Camaro, it will fit other GM models as well. The kit includes steering wheel, mounting kit, horn cap retainer, and horn cap (without emblem). Your choice of a variety of correct horn cap emblems are not included, but are available separately.

Finally, we have the third-gen Camaro leather-wrapped wheel. This OER reproduction of the original-style leather-wrapped steering wheel was found on 1982 through 1989 Camaro models. Each steering wheel is produced to factory-original specifications with stamped-steel center ring and authentic leather grip.

Careful attention to detail has been incorporated into the manufacturing process, making this leather steering wheel a must-have for any third-gen Camaro restorer who wants complete authenticity. This steering wheel was originally installed in 1982 through 1986 models with NK3 leather interior option or 1987 through 1989 models with NP5 leather interior option. This was typically Z/28 and IROC-Z models of the era. Horn cap is available separately.
