It’s a dream of every Chevy guy to have a big block in their ride. Even if your buddy swears by small-block power, secretly, he really wants a big block. However, building a big block is not within the financial reach of many. Thankfully, BluePrint Engines makes it easy for everyone to have a 502 cubic-inch behemoth.
Check out BluePrint’s latest 502 ProSeries Stroker Crate Engines. The company is excited to announce this new high-performance crate engine that offers enthusiasts another 500-plus cubic-inch option with plenty of power. What’s more, it comes in at a lower price point than the manufacturer’s current stroker big blocks. According to BluePrint, this engine package is sure to make any hot rodder, muscle car, or truck owner happy with 621 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque.
The foundation is set with a brand-new BluePrint cast-iron block that is manufactured and machined in the USA. For ease of header selection, the 502 stroker crate engines feature a standard deck height and use a factory GM big block bore size of 4.466 inches. Since BluePrint designs its own blocks, engines can be produced with factory bore sizes. This means that should a customer want to freshen up an engine down the road, there is plenty of meat left in the cylinder walls to do so. This cannot be said about OEM blocks that have already been over-bored.
The new 502 crate engine is currently offered in three levels of engine dress. It can be purchased as a long block or it can be dressed with a carburetor or EFI unit. These ProSeries stroker crate engines feature the following:
- New BluePrint cast-iron block
- Standard deck height
- Four-bolt main caps
- One-piece rear main seal
- A 4.466-inch bore x 4.000-inch stroke
- Hydraulic-roller camshaft
- A 10.0:1 compression ratio
- Forged rotating assembly
- BluePrint 316cc big-block aluminum cylinder heads
- Oil pan, timing cover, and harmonic balancer installed
All BluePrint crate engines are dyno tested before they leave the facility, and a dyno sheet is included with every shipment. Customers will have confidence knowing how much power their specific engine produces, guaranteeing performance in your vehicle. BluePrint crate engines are also covered by a 30-month/50,000-mile warranty, assuring customers that their investment is protected.
“We are continually adding to our product line up to make sure we have engines available for a wide range of auto enthusiasts, this is another example of that,” said BluePrint Engines’ Product Manager Johnny McDevitt.
