Holley Earl’s Line Stepping Up LS V8 Engine Cooling Game

Regardless of what engine you run, cooling system upgrades often have to follow other mods. The loss of efficiency and power in tight engine bays or added forced induction setups is measurable. Since everyone and their mama is swapping an LS V8 into every chassis found on earth, you’d think the popular LS-swap outnumbers OEM cars with that motor from the factory.

This is where Holley Performance and its worldwide standard in performance plumbing sub-brand, Earl’s Performance Plumbing is thinking outside the norm and coming to market with easy-to-install, affordable cooling upgrades.

Since Holley’s Earl’s line is trusted in every build from street cars all the way up to 4-digit horsepower race cars, these LS cooling kits for remote electric water pumps and steam tube systems can be trusted to perform under harsh conditions for years into the future.

Earl’s Performance Plumbing products specialize in plumbing of all types of engine-related fluids with the most comprehensive stainless lines and -AN fittings in the business. In fact, even when you think you’re buying another brand, you might still be buying Earl’s, as the company private labels products from here to Japan!

Earl’s Performance Plumbing has released two new General Motors LS V8 engine products to the market – the LS Remote Electric Water Pump Plumbing Kit and the LS Steam Tube Kit.

The Remote Electric Water Pump Kit (part number: LS0040ERL) is self-explanatory as LS V8 owners might want to ditch the power-robbing coolant impeller and go remote electric versus pulley-driven. The kit simplifies the installation by avoiding the installation of Y-Blocks, Tees along with various hose connections by using a proprietary adjustable coolant cross-over tube.

"Holley saw the need for customers with custom accessory drives and non-standard plumbing setups to adapt a remote mounted electric water pump to their LS engine," says Skylar Drake, Holley Technical Writer.

“Holley saw the need for customers with custom accessory drives and non-standard plumbing setups to adapt a remote mounted electric water pump to their LS engine,” says Skylar Drake, Holley Technical Writer. “The more tees, y-blocks, and hose ends all create potential failure points, so we wanted to simplify it as much as possible. Overall, an awesome piece to remove a bundle of hoses and the adjustable crossover allows customers to make changes without building new pieces.”

The block adapter is an attractive billet anodized aluminum piece to add to the engine bay. The block features -12AN O-ring ports to ensure a tight seal and a 1/8-inch port to be able to tie in the optional LS Steam Tube Kit. The adjustable cross-over tubes, block adapters fittings, and hardware are easy to install in conjunction with your modernized electric water pump. The Remote Electric Water Pump Plumbing Kit moves the required volume of coolant needed to build adequate pressure at any rpm.

The LS Steam Tube Kit was designed to remove steam and trapped air from the cooling system. Engineered to work with Holley LS Hi-Ram, Holley Single Plane, and Sniper Fabricated Intake Manifolds, the LS Steam Tube kit (part number: LS0036ERL) is a bolt-on affair (when paired with a couple Earl’s pivoting steam vent adapters, part number: LS9807ERL). With all hard-lines supplied in pre-bent stainless steel tubing, the coolant plumbing is all secured with anodized -AN fittings. The end result is a compact and concealed vent system that rids the cooling network of excess steam and air trapped in there causing overheating in your LS engine.

“Steam tubes are necessary, but can be an eyesore in engine bays,” says Drake.”The goal was to make an attractive piece that would be easy to assemble, clear aftermarket intake manifolds, and not rust.”

With the affordable cost, ease of installation and trusted performance of Holley Earl’s product, these are a couple of LS must-haves for cooling improvement. To bring your LS into the electric era with a remote water pump and as that combustion heats up with more performance pushing that coolant to the max, these parts are a couple aces up the sleeve for novices to pro engine builders.
