Project Fastback: MyClassicGarage Mustang Build Gets New Suspension

If you’ve followed along, MyClassicGarage has been working hard on getting the ultimate giveaway car put together, as voted on by readers and fans. Last year, the giveaway car was a fully restored Hemi ‘Cuda, this year the car winning the most votes was the 1967 Mustang Fastback – titled Project Fastback.

MyClassicGarage is a social network for gearheads to build car profiles in their virtual garage and track progress of a build or even list a car for sale in the MCG Marketplace. The site hosts benefits like tracking your investment with service records, insurance, repairs, and market value. The MCG Marketplace is free, and simple to use, making your listing available to over 90,000 users. Here, you can find out details about your vehicle’s history, as well as ask questions and get information from their panel of experts.

The current giveaway car from MyClassicGarage is going through a series of voting stages, making this car one that is truly designed by MCG fans and subscribers. The body design was chosen to be a track performer, and for that performer to meet up to the expectations of the fans, they looked no further than the Ford Coyote powerplant.

In order to make this car perform, it takes more than a body kit and a powerful engine, it needs the suspension to make it work, and the votes are in. Detroit Speed Engineering will be providing their Aluma-Frame for the front and Quadra-Link for the rear, with JRi double-adjustable coilover shocks at all corners.

There are only a couple of phases left: exhaust, paint, and wheels & tires, with the exhaust phase being voted on now. Fans will choose between three Borla exhaust systems, based on street, street performance, or performance. The Borla system can keep it tame with a mild growl for the street, or maybe you like the full aggressive sound of the performance system. It’s up to you to vote.

If you haven’t been following along, head on over to MyClassicGarage and check out Project Fastback. And remember: this is a car that you can win, so don’t let everyone else decide for you, register and get your votes in!
