Back in the day, getting a photo of your project car or daily driver in a car publication was the pinnacle of any gearhead’s life. It was bragging rights till someone else in your car club got his wheels published in another rag. With the decline in the number of print magazines and car clubs for that matter, getting your props for a job well done is rare.
The folks over at Original Parts Group Inc (OPGI) want to help you celebrate your hard work by posting your pride and joy on its blog and social media sites. If you follow the Original Parts Group on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, then you are aware of the social media posts of their customer’s classic cars.
Posting photos is one thing, but that is only half of the picture. Recently the OPGI crew have taken things to the next level and have started sharing their customer’s stories along with photos in the OPGI blog, which completes the full picture.
Examples
According to our inside source at OPGI, sharing customer Chris Decker’s story on his ’67 El Camino was a fun one to help tell. Chris’ ride went from a streetcar to a race car back to streetcar, when his little boy started showing interest in being a part of his Elco project.
Shane Schieve’s story started back in ’74 when his Uncle pulled up in a ’70 Monte Carlo. As soon as Shane laid eyes on it, he knew it would be his. I guess you can call it, love at first sight.
One of their more recent features became an Instagram favorite with Shawn White’s ’70 Chevelle (aka “Sexy Sally”). He shares some great content and his own edits that he never fails to tag us on.
How Do You Get Featured?
OPGI is always looking for more cars to post and they would love to help you tell your car’s story. If you think you have a ride that is worthy of #Showusyourride, then send in your #montecarlomonday, #trucktuesday, #frontendfriday shots (or whatever hashtag category you want), and share your story with them by clicking here.
