Ridetech not only manufactures amazing suspension products for muscle cars, street rods, trucks and powersports, the company also uses its products on its own vehicles, a true testament to their quality standard. Just last weekend the Ridetech 48 Hour Camaro competed in the fourth Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational qualifying event of the season, the Optima Faceoff at Road America and came out on top in the autocross competition, giving the crew a second-place overall finish for the event. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

We caught Ridetech President Bret Voelkel thrashing the 48 Hour Camaro at last year's OUSCI event and we hope to see the Ridetech crew at the famed event once again for 2012.

The Ridetech 48 Hour Camaro is a beast of a pro-touring car with a built Lingenfelter LS3 engine featuring a Holley LS manifold and EFI, complete Ridetech suspension system, Baer brakes, and an American Powertrain T56 Magnum six-speed transmission matched with a Centerforce DYAD clutch. And thanks to extra engine tuning by Lingenfelter, new Falken tires and astute shock tuning, Ridetech Director of Engineering Britt Marolf was able to prove the car’s track-worthiness by driving the car to victory at the OUSCI qualifying event at Road America last weekend.

While the 48 Hour Camaro took the  autocross competition by storm, it faltered a little during the road course portion of competition, finishing in a respectable third place. These two combined results gave Marolf a second-place overall finish behind Danny Popp and the #53 Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Camaro.

Ridetech president Bret Voelkel also competed at the qualifying event with the company’s freshly build 1933 Ford street rod. Voelkel finished third in the autocross competition, fifth in the road course and also got recognized in the design challenge segment, receiving third place in that as well. Overall, Voelkel and the ‘33 finished fifth overall.
