Our friends over at Ron Francis Wiring have been in the wiring business for decades – four of them, in fact, as they’re celebrating their 40th anniversary during the 2014 calendar year, a huge milestone for an automotive aftermarket company with such a specialized niche
Back in 1974, Ron Francis created their very first do-it-yourself at-home wiring kit for the enthusiast, and that tradition continues today with a huge lineup of custom wiring systems and off-the-shelf electrical system products.
In the past, we’ve been to the Ron Francis shop to tour the facility, and we came away thoroughly impressed with the level of detail that goes into every wiring kit they create for all sorts of different applications.
In addition, company president Scott Bowers also spent some time working with us to put together a list of his Top Ten Wiring Tips and has been very helpful in educating us on wiring and electrical systems in general.
Their extensive list of products includes everything from drop-in Mustang 5.0L fuel injection harnesses that we’ve used on StangTV‘s Project Rehab, to a complete system install we covered on Rod Authority, down to the simplest master-disconnect switch to get you NHRA-legal for competition after battery relocation.
“Here at Ron Francis Wiring, quality products, excellent customer service, and knowledgable staff have been our goal for over 40 years. Ron Francis Wiring, then called Ron Francis Wire Works, was an innovative start up company in Ron’s basement 40 years ago. We continue that innovation with product offerings that include a broad spectrum of quality electrical and fuel injection products for the automotive aftermarket,” says Bowers.
That initial kit developed by Francis and sold through 1974’s antiquated mail-order channels has turned into a complete lineup of stock-replacement and custom wiring kits that can accommodate nearly any type of automotive application. They even have a Factory Five-specific fuel injection harness to take the difficulty out of building one of those sweet projects.
Wiring can be considered a black art, but Ron Francis Wiring has taken the guesswork out of it for the average enthusiast. For more information on their complete line of products, check out their website.
