Rumor: GT350 Pricing To Start At $52,995 Before Tech or Track Pack

Ford has said very little about the upcoming 2016 GT350, aside from telling us a few of the specifications. One of the key things they’ve neglected to mention so far has been pricing for the latest collaboration between SVT and Shelby.

Horsepower Kings, is saying that they were able to get the inside scoop on much of the pricing plans for the upcoming flat plane crank powered Mustang. According to Horsepower Kings, the GT350 will have a base MSRP of $52,995. This would put the car under the price of its key competitor, Chevy’s Z/28, as well as below the previous generation GT500.

In addition to the base price, Horsepower Kings, is saying that the unnamed Ford official, who gave them this information at the LA Auto Show, also says there will be a tech package for $2,995. Such a package will likely include My Ford Touch and Sync, probably an upgraded Shaker sound system, interior lighting, backup camera, etc. There’s also rumored to be an available Performance Package, although the pricing wasn’t given in the Horsepower Kings article. That site is speculating that this will allow the GT350 Performance Pack to slot between the GT350 and the GT350R.

We have to wonder if Ford won’t fill out the Performance Pack with brake cooling ducts, oil coolers for the engine, transmission, and differential, and maybe even slot in the track apps in that package. What we’re hoping isn’t a Performance Pack only option are the Magneride shocks and struts. Our hope is that those parts come standard on the GT350, and the Performance Pack simply adds more pieces for longer stings of track driving.

Ford officials, of course, aren’t commenting to confirm or deny these rumors at this time. We probably won’t have pricing on the GT350 until closer to the car’s on sale date, something we don’t anticipate to see until next summer or even fall. Until then, we’ll be anxiously waiting our turn to drive one.
