Sadly, in a tragic accident involving two teens and one adult, three lives were claimed in a horrendous crash. The accident, which took place during the early evening hours, occurred when a white 2012 Chevrolet Camaro accidentally, upon hitting a curb, lost control and impacted a concrete pillar at high speed.
Occurring on Interstate 45 service road in Houston, Texas, it is currently under assumption by investigators that the high school students of Dekaney High School were being transported by their trainer to an after school function.
Larry Jessamy, 48, of Houston and the two Dekaney students, Sarid Shahdaiah and Quincy Williams, were killed instantly at the scene this past Wednesday. Prior to impact, they sideswiped a minivan that was also involved in the incident. According to investigators the mother and adult daughter of the minivan left the scene of the crash due to fear and panicking. The women, who’s names have yet to be released, called in six hours later to report they had also been involved in the accident after viewing news footage on television. Lead Harris County Sheriff’s investigator, Derek Wilkie, stated, “They knew they’d been involved. But they got scared and panicked. We are still reviewing with the district attorney whether to file charges for leaving the scene of a wreck.”
At this time initial findings and witness reports show the women excited I-45 and were in the center lane heading northward on a service road when their van was struck and sideswiped by the 2012 Camaro. Harris County Sheriff’s department shared they are at this time unsure of the speed at which the Camaro was traveling, but based on the unfortunate ending they can gather they were traveling at a pretty high rate of speed.
Please remember to be safe this holiday season, nothing is worth losing your life over to get there sooner.
