A host of things can be enhanced on a vehicles interior or exterior to deliver a ‘racey’ look that screams high performance, but few do it better than true, honest to

goodness carbon fiber. And with that in mind, the team at AIRAIDset out to design a new air intake system that compliments the awesome looks of the sports car-inspired 2012 Boss 302 Mustang with a real carbon fiber construction. And in doing so, they’ve teamed up with legendary former Trans Am Champion Parnelli Jones to create the MXP-Series Parnelli Jones Edition Boss 302 Air Intake System.

The new MXP Series carbon fiber Boss 302 intake is optimized for performance and tuned for the track, where the original,

iconic Mustang Boss was driven to the Trans Am title by Jones in 1970. This air intake system is a tribute to Parnelli’s devotion to power and performance, delivering a boost of some 19 horsepower to the stout 444 horsepower 2012 Boss.

This MXP Intake System features a real carbon fiber intake tube that measures 4.25-inches in diameter, and sports a stack to increase airflow and incorporates a billet plate that accepts factory MAF sensors. The intake tube connects to AIRAID’s one-piece roto-molded Cold Air Box through a “hump hose” with stainless steel clamps.

“The biggest selling point of this air intake system is that it has a real carbon fiber air intake tube,” said AIRAID’s Dave Edelman.

The Parnelli Jones Air Intake System also features a 1300 cfm, non-oiled Synthamax air filter that’s blue in color – a look that Ford and Mustang aficionados love.

The first 15 Parnelli Jones Edition units – which are numbered and have been autographed by Jones – are being auctioned to raise funding for an inspirational biographical film entitled “Godspeed,” which will share the story of Jones’ son Page, who suffered a severe brain injury in a sprint car race.
