Listen, Mustang guys aren’t too picky (unlike you Corvette dudes. Seriously guys, what’s with the date-coded tire air?), so when it comes to good, quality aftermarket parts – be it for performance gains or simple improvements to the general driveability – there’s really not too much that they fight against.
While a lot of aftermarket steering columns might provide tilt or even telescoping options, most of them won’t let you run a factory-style wheel. We hardly believe it either.
Well, Ididit has heard the cries and lamentations of the Mustang loyal and has introduced a new column that not only provides tilt adjustment and easy installation, but is compatible with factory steering wheels, even down to the correct horn button triggers!
Equipped with self-cancelling turn signals, 4-way flashers (for ’67-’67 models only), era-specific knobs and handles, authentic Ford top splines, and compatible with your stock underdash mount.
Unlike the usual “universal columns,” these are specifically designed to fit on specific model years – as there were four changes in five years. Oh yeah, and if you’re not really the “restoration type,” this column works just fine for both manual or power steering applications or if you’ve got a new rack and pinion. How’s that for diverse?!
Moreover, Ididit had one more trick up its sleeve for SEMA, a cool new keyless ignition system. Whether you opt for a column install or an in-dash installation, the same principals remain; a single control box (ICM) operates the ignition, which is accessed by one of two key FOBs. Whether sitting behind the wheel or standing 10 feet away, you can fire up your ride with Ididit’s new keyless ignition.
Ididit's keyless ignition system works great whether installed on an Ididit steering column, or if you've got an in-dash ignition, it'll work there too.
