SEMA 2012: Livernois Motorsports Adds Big Power to SVT Raptor

Many would not refute the fact that the Lightning and Raptor are the two baddest trucks Ford ever built. They were designed with performance in mind, where the Raptor excels in both all-out raw horsepower as well as off-roading capability.

The Raptor makes around 320-330rwhp in stock form and if that’s not enough for you, Livernois Motorsports can help liven that 6.2-liter up. With tons of hours in testing and development, Livernois has designed a complete head package that includes studs, rocker bar brace, valve springs, cams, phaser lock outs and CNC porting.

Starting with their rocker bar brace system, which is designed to improve valvetrain geometry and offer increased durability. This kit keeps the valvetrain stable in your high performance 6.2L engine and is a must have for anyone installing aftermarket camshafts or higher pressure springs.

“While the rockers themselves are very stout in the 6.2L, the rocker bars themselves are prone to deflection, said Dan Millen of Livernois. “When installing more aggressive camshafts, these rocker bar braces are a must.”

When pairing Livernois’ custom camshafts and valve springs together, their phaser lockouts also become a required part. “The 6.2 doesn’t have a lot of piston to valve clearance, so our lockout kit must be used when using aftermarket camshafts,” explained Millen.

Completing the package is Livernois custom CNC porting package. Done in house at Livernois, these new or seasoned OEM Ford castings fully assembled without camshafts. The heads flow 343 cfm at .700 lift on the intake and  235 cfm at .700 lift on the exhaust.

After the cylinder heads are ported, they are finished with a custom valve job, along with custom ground 2.100″ intake valves and 1.650″ exhaust valves. When all said and done, this top end package can help boost power levels over 400 to the wheels. That’s an increase that’s going to help win races.
