SEMA 2013: Baer Brakes Stopped Us In Our Tracks

BAER-03

When scouring this year’s SEMA Show for the coolest of the cool and what’s new in the automotive aftermarket, it’s no surprise that we came across Baer Brake Systems who, as always, have some more cool tricks up their sleeves. Baer is no stranger to performance braking solutions and has been a major player in the game since inception, well over four decades ago.

Having a solid background in racing performance, Baer Brakes has had a foothold in solid innovation, proudly made in the USA. Innovative solutions combined with the best road and race technology available is a solid motto that the crew at Baer lives day in and day out.

BAER-02This year’s new product releases included a host of new applications for:

  • Jeep JK: 2007-2015
  • C7 Corvette
  • Ford Raptor: 2012-2013
  • Ford Mustang 1987-1993 – Drag Brake System

Front Road Systems are vehicle specific and features vary by application. Front systems include stainless braided brake hoses, fittings, and high-grade hardware. In applications where hubs are supplied, they’re pre-built with SKF or Timken bearings and races, studs and are packed with Redline synthetic grease for ease of installation. Spindle systems come completely pre-assembled on modified spindles ready to hang on the vehicle.

Rear 4- or 6-piston systems also vary by application but include billet aluminum backing plates which mount Baer’s unique 1-piece park brake assembly inside the rotor hat. These systems also include stainless hoses, fittings, and high-grade hardware.

As needed, Baer’s patent pending VeriSlide self centering caliper brackets provide a proper engineered solution to mount opposed piston calipers on “C-clip” rearends. Baer is proud to manufacture all 4- and 6-piston calipers in-house with US sourced materials, proudly “Made In The USA.”

Another new innovation coming through the Baer camp is the new race-inspired R-Spec Rotor. Baer’s R-Spec Rotors features a proprietary casting done to their exacting specifications from a foundry in Europe. This project has been in development for the past two years and the goal was to build a purpose-built race rotor that was lighter, yet offer a substantial improvement in rotor life. The R-Spec rotors will be available as an upgrade to any of the current Extreme+ brake systems, as well as the Baer Tracker Floater rearend conversion.

For more information on these or any other braking innovations, check out the Baer Brake website, and follow along for updates on Baer’s Facebook page. Stay tuned!
