One of the benefits of SLP’s acquisition by ROUSH Performance earlier this year was the tremendous depth of technical know-how and R&D resources that became available, leading to both expansions of SLP’s existing product lines as well as some interesting new directions as well. Here at SEMA, we got a look at some of the first fruit of that new growth in the form of twin-rotor superchargers for 5.7 and 6.4 liter HEMI and 2014 GM trucks using the new direct-injection Gen V small block V8.
These blowers use Eaton TVS 2300 rotor packs, the same innards as the supercharger on the mighty C6 Corvette ZR1, noted for their very high thermal efficiency.
Coupled with an integral air-to-water intercooler and port-matched intake manifold, these superchargers can support as much as 850 horsepower. They also feature a direct-drive setup with no jackshaft, which is a potential point of failure in competing designs.
Of course, SLP is best known for their products on the opposite end of the combustion cycle – the legendary Loudmouth exhaust. Though synonymous with 4th gen Camaro and Firebird applications, they also have exhausts for the late model GTO/G8, Fox-body and SN-95 Mustangs, Chrysler 300C, and Dodge Challenger/Charger/Magnum with the same “let’s meet the neighbors” sound.
Finally, we got a look at SLP’s new coil covers for LS engines – the perfect visual compliment to the added snarl and horsepower SLP brings to your car or truck.
