It’s amazing how popular the C10-model pickup has gotten over the last decade. Trucks have shot up in value, and they have quickly become a highly sought after vintage vehicle. This 1969 C10 belongs to Florida resident Jimmy Flock, and it’s built to be enjoyed. This truck is a perfect example of why people are falling in love with classic trucks like never before.
Jimmy’s C10 features a fuel injected 572 cubic-inch big-block Chevy crate engine woth a throttle body fuel injection. Behind that is a 4L80E automatic transmission and 4.10 rearend gearing. When he took the truck to Griffey’s Hot Rod and Restoration in Knoxville, Tennessee, it already had the drivetrain installed and the TMI upholstery in the cab. But, the crew at Griffey’s still did a lot to refine the truck and make it into what you see here
The monstrous powerplant looks right at home.
Griffey’s Hot Rod and Restoration repainted the truck and shaved all of the moldings and emblems. The guys also widened the rear-wheel tubs to accommodate the larger tires. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of wheel-tub to fit a 22×12 wheel and tire package in the back! To match those wide rear tires, Griffeys also fit 20×10 wheels under the front fender. To get the look and ride Jimmy wanted, they installed an AccuAir air ride suspension system in the truck as well.
A simple, clean built, this C10 is one cool truck!
