Speartech Introduces Swap Harness For Gen 5 LT Engines

There is little doubt that the LS is still the most popular engine swap on the planet at the moment. We have seen them in just about everything imaginable, imports, domestics, rat rods, boats, and even a motorcycle or two. At some point — and it’s starting to happen — people will begin swapping Chevrolet’s LT series engines just to be different. The LT has advantages and disadvantages over the LS due to its direct-injection, but its certainly a more sophisticated engine as well. With less aftermarket support than the LS, the LT is a more difficult swap to perform to some degree, but Speartech makes the wiring side of the swap is as easy as plug-in-play.

All Speartech harnesses are covered in the latest high-tech, high-temp woven covering for a durable, clean, show car look.

Speartech now offers standalone harnesses for the Gen 5 LT platforms. The new harnesses and control systems are designed to use the factory sixth-gen Camaro ZL1 fuel pump. According to Speartech these pumps are available from your local Chevrolet dealer or Rick’s Tanks.

The Gen 5 V8 standalone harnesses are custom-built for full function, closed-loop control, and designed for non-emissions use, meaning no post-cat O2’s, purge canister, or fuel tank evap interface. The length of Speartech’s standard harnesses is 3.5-feet. This measurement comes from the back of the engine to the ECM location, which allows for enough room to locate the ECM inside the driver compartment. However, if you would like to place the ECM in a different area, just let Speartech know, and they will build a harness to your custom specifications.

The Gen 5 harness covers the following engines:

  • LT5 – 6.2L Supercharged 755 Horsepower – C7 Corvette ZR1
  • LT4 – 6.2L Supercharged 650 Horsepower – 2015-2019 Corvette Z06s, 2016-present CTS-Vs, and 2017-present Camaro ZL1s
  • LT1 – 6.2L 455 Horsepower – C7 Corvette and 6th Gen Camaro
  • L86 – 6.2L 420 Horsepower – Late Model Silverado and Sierra 1500 Trucks
  • L83 – 5.3L 355 Horsepower – Late Model Silverado and Sierra 1500 Trucks
