Keep it stock or go modding? That’s the question that faces every owner who now looks at his C7 sitting in the driveway. We won’t try to steer you one way or the other–both viewpoints have their merits, after all–but you can really have some fun once you open the hood and start messing around, that’s for sure.
Here to prove that point is LG Motorsports, the Plano, Texas-based company that’s all about taking Corvettes and having them “blur the line between racing and street,” according to their motto. A hot red Stingray recently rolled into the shop, owned by a police detective’s wife, and it’s set to get some pretty big upgrades here in 2015.
On Facebook, where the company remains active and engaging with its fanbase, a post was made on April 1st introducing the Vette. “This C7 showed up 100-percent stock and put down 411 rwhp,” went the post. “After the East Coast Supercharging Supercharger, American Racing Headers, AlkyControl Methanol Kit and Late Model Racecraft catch can get installed, we’re looking to change the ‘4’ in the 411 rwhp to possibly a ‘7’ in the hp range.”
“We put on all those mods mentioned in the post, and now that Corvette is really putting the power down,” said LGM’s Anthony Forney. “We got it on the dyno on April 10th and it made 662 rwhp and 585 lb-ft of torque. It was running on 93 octane pump gas and methanol injection, of course.”
All that for a detective’s wife? Let’s hope she (and he) won’t be getting in trouble too much. In the meantime, check out all that LG Motorsports has to offer–the phone number and website can be found below.
