For as long as Jackson Standridge can remember, he’s loved Camaros. His cousins each had Camaros when they turned 16, and he always hoped to follow in their footsteps. That dream finally came true when he found the perfect 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE. But Jackson’s path to that moment wasn’t easy. Born with a cleft palate and foot deformities, he’s spent his whole life overcoming challenges. Then, at 18, he was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer.
In February, Jackson underwent major surgery that removed half of one lung. Still, he stayed optimistic and resilient. “He’s done really well and has maintained such a positive attitude through it all,” said his mother, Allison Standridge. “He really is the sweetest kid.”
The Dream Becomes Real
After all he had been through, Jackson decided he wasn’t going to wait any longer for the car he always wanted. He found a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS 1LE in Rapid Blue that checked every box. Originally planning to wait until his 19th birthday so he could sign the papers himself, he changed his mind—he deserved this now. He and his father drove six and a half hours to South Carolina to bring it home. That was June 5.
Gone In Seconds
Exactly one week later, on June 12, the car was stolen from a mall parking lot. Surveillance footage showed thieves taking it in less than a minute. The car hadn’t even been registered for two full weeks.
This wasn’t just another fast car. Jackson had no plans to modify it or even take it to the track. It was perfect the way Chevrolet built it, exactly how he wanted it. After all he had overcome, this was supposed to be a moment of peace. A reward. Now it’s gone.
Bring Jackson’s Camaro Home
Jackson doesn’t want a replacement. He wants his Camaro back. It’s a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS 1LE in Rapid Blue. The last eight digits of the VIN are N0104178. If you see this car or have any information about it, contact Jackson directly at jstand629@icloud.com or notify your local authorities.
Let’s help return more than just a car. Let’s return the piece of hope it represented.
