While performing one of our favorite pastimes, browsing YouTube of course, we came across this video from Vehicle Virgins reviewing the 2015 Chevrolet SS.
The 2015 SS, which is base priced at $45,745 – was an unintentional replacement for the Pontiac G8 which was discontinued a few years back, leaving GM without a rear drive sedan in its fleet.
The G8 was the first time Australia General Motor’s had blessed us with the Holden Commodore. While only 38,159 G8s (this includes all models) were sold in the US between 2008-2009, you may think to yourself – “that’s a really low production number”.
Basically, what we’re getting at here is: the Chevy badged Holden Commodore is back for 2015, so don’t miss out on it! We’re kidding of course, but let’s move along and break down some of that video.
From Vehicle Virgins – “The first thing you notice when you approach an SS is … how ordinary it appears. With typical modern Chevy styling, it is very easy to mistake the SS for the Malibu. If you want a sleeper, its perfect, only when you look closely do you notice the small details that indicate this is a performance vehicle.
Split exhaust, standard Brembo brakes, excessive chrome trim, and obviously, the savage sounds of that 6.2L LS3.”
To be perfectly honest, we don’t think a lot of you would mistake this Chevy SS for a Malibu, but we could be wrong.
What do you guys think? Is the 2015 Chevrolet SS the ultimate modern sleeper, or the ultimate muscle sedan?
