Merry Christmas to you and your family from all of us at Power Automedia; it’s that time of year when we’re all glad to be off of work for a little bit, the kids are getting their presents, and gearheads the world over are enjoying some grown-up toys that they earned from being good all year. Well, for the most part, anyway. From Power Wheels to new hot rod and musclecar parts, there’s always room under the tree for a gearhead.
If you’re like us in somewhat sunny Southern California, a romp in the snow is about an hour or more away, and most of our rides aren’t equipped for the snow and ice. In other parts of the country and the world, a white Christmas covers up the landscape and that often puts many gearheads’ toys into the garage for the winter months.
For the Lindberg Brothers in Sweden, however, the snow is the perfect setting to take to the streets for some serious fun, as you can see in the video above. They’re out playing around in a blown big-block sleigh-rod that papa Lars built a couple of years ago, drifting it down the snow covered roads and kicking up some powder.
Based on a 1923 Ford street rod body, the Snow Monster is powered by a blown 454 Chevrolet, making power with a pair of Holley 750 double-pumpers on top of a Littlefield 8-71 supercharger. The shifting is done with a Hurst shifter and a TH350 automatic, putting the 550+ horsepower to the Arctic Cat Lynk tracks in the rear. The front skis handle the snow and ice and help get the Snow Monster around the streets of Sweden, while the Lindberg brothers kick up some snow.
Merry Christmas to all, and have a safe and Happy New Year. For those who don’t celebrate Christmas, we still wish you the best this holiday season. Have some fun… but be safe!
