We have seen Hemi Chevys before but a Chevy powered Mopar might be a first. Shawn of Indiana took his 2008 Dodge Charger 2.7 and swapped in not a 392 or 5.7 Hemi but instead a 6.0L LQ4 engine. What would make Shawn install an LSX engine into a Mopar?

He purchased a base model 2008 Dodge Charger with a blown 2.7L with the intent of repairing it. After some research he decided to scrap that plan and go with the more performance oriented LQ4. He has always been a Chevy guy at heart and loved the look of the Charger. He decided this was an opportunity to build something no one else has a Dodge Charger LSX.

Shawn is a carpenter by trade and is used to improvising when the situation calls for it. He rigged up a custom cross-member and engine mounts to allow the LSX to fit in the engine bay. He said it was tricky getting the 4L80e to fit underneath the car but after some denial and error he got it to work. Despite doing this at home in his garage, the LSX looks like it was factory installed. It even has an LSX badge on the trunk where the Hemi badge would normally be to make it official.

His Dodge Charger LQ4 Swap makes 308 horses at the wheels thanks to a Mike Norris tune. This power is made through cast headers and a full exhaust system.
