Pop quiz, hotshot; when you think of the Back To The Future DeLorean, what song immediately pops into your head? Was it “Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News? If you’re a red-blooded American, or even if you’re not, the answer to that question is yes. Perhaps in the future you might think of “Deer In the Headlights” by Owl City, though.
Their recent video for the Deer song features, for some reason, the BTTF DeLorean that we all know and love. We’re still not sure as to why that’s the case, but the DeLorean really looks pretty accurate to the 1985 movie with the exception of a little undercarriage neon, a CD player, and a couple of gauges that must have come from Dakota Digital.
It’s interesting that 1980’s era TV and Movie entertainment is still being recycled today. The A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard, Herbie the Love Bug, and even the fantastic Family Guy “Star Wars” trilogy seem to prove that there are either no creative juices left in Hollywood, or that Generation X is now completely in power and are living out their childhood. Perhaps it’s a little of both. The only thing we want to know is, what kind of car will portray K.I.T.T. next to David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff in the 2013 Summer Blockbuster, “Knight Rider, So Very Tired?”
