Video: Chambered Technology With Flowmaster

Never one to rest on it’s laurels, Flowmaster Mufflers is always pursuing the latest technology and to improve and enhance their design and classic sound. With all the straight-through muffler designs available today, Flowmaster’s chambered technology is designed to use the exhaust gas and energy to cancel out unwanted sound instead of absorbing the energy and losing it as heat.

Flowmaster has also added headers and catalytic converters to their arsenal.

In a newly uploaded video, above, Flowmaster shows how the delta plates in their chambered mufflers help to split apart the sound energy, then bringing it back together in the power chamber which results in sound cancellation and the “carefully engineered Flowmaster sound”. The exhaust gasses are directed into the power chamber where the energy create a scavenger effect. The low pressure behind the delta plates, resulting in increased exhaust flow. The accelerated exhaust passes through the low pressure balance chamber and exits the muffler at a higher velocity, and much quieter.

Ever since these “suitcase mufflers” showed up on the Sprint Car circuit in California in 1983, they’ve been a name that is synonymous with deep, throaty sounds and increased performance.

Today, Flowmaster is much more involved in automotive exhaust systems, with their line of headers, catalytic converters and complete systems. Flowmaster is now a part of the B&M group, and continues to search for ways to add new products to their line, while still improving their existing products. many of their mufflers and exhaust systems are now available in stainless steel, which are covered with limited lifetime warranties. Check out the video and see why Flowmaster mufflers are so unique, then check out their site and see what they have for your ride.
