Some trucks are known for being fast, others are known for their good looks and a few are known for their wild personalities. With a whining turbo Cummins diesel mill, a surf green paint job, stripped bed and slammed stance this first generation Chevy C30 is a fine example of a wild personality. A turbo diesel and a air bags are usually not two common combos, usually diesel guys favor off roading and blue collar work while baggers are built for fun. However, since this whimsical combo is unique it comes off as creative and fun, it perfectly combines the worlds of classic American trucks, mini trucks and diesel machines.
The Chevy C30 is part of the long running Chevy C Truck series. The original generation debut in 1960 and ran through 1966. It included three classes of sizes from the standard Apache size (C10, C20, C30 and C40), the Viking sizes C50 and C60 and the Spartan C70, C80 and C90. The C30 came with a variety of mills ranging from the 292 cubic inch straight six to the famous 327 cubic inch V-8. The trick was a favorite among workers, farmers and now hot rodders.
The combo of diesel power and getting low might seem strange and impractical to die hard diesel purist but you gotta admit its pretty fun. It may not serve any purpose other than to be unique but you gotta admit me this whimsical machine puts a smile on your face. It makes you wonder what drives people, what ever that us we are glad it does because you end up with wild rides such as this one.
