Video: G-Force’s ProCharged Stock Car Does 240 At The Texas Mile

Let’s face it, we’re “gearheads,” and as such, we are a very special group of people. Horsepower is more than just a measurement of output; it’s something that lives in our very blood. If this describes you, then you have no doubt come to that place in your life where you’ve considered the horsepower craft as a career path, much more than just a backyard hobby.

If this also describes you, then the School of Automotive Machinists (S.A.M.) in Houston, Texas can also sympathize, as they have been responsible for training generations of gearheaded students who have gone on to spearhead fulfilling careers with such professional race sanctions as the NHRA, NASCAR and CART.

Using a little bit of powertrain genius from S.A.M., G-Force Motorsports has built a stock car that knows no bounds when it comes to top-speed action. G-Force Motorsports of Pearland, Texas was founded in 2001 as a performance shop specializing in everything late-model, specifically GM.

Over the span of their 11-year existence, Pearland’s G-Force has become one of Texas’ premiere, hi-po builders of late-model Corvettes and Camaros. But G-Force also brings to the table some 40 years of experience, the shop’s staff having extensive experience in the field of building and testing high-performance, late model vehicles.

Even during some test runs, the Stock car clipped 191.3mph with ease.

This last October at the Texas Mile, a 1-mile, biannual speed challenge in Beeville, Texas, the ProCharged stock car featured in the video achieved a top speed of 240mph. The car, as shown in the featured video from the Mile, produces between 1500-1600bhp, with a ProCharger unit force-feeding cold air into a racing engine built by S.A.M., a motor that, under the influence of nitrous, was unable to run full-power to the finish line, though it’s recorded top speed more than made up for this.

High Tech Corvette, who posted the Texas Mile video on YouTube, was just as impressed as we were, apparently–with or without nitrous–with the 240mph track run by the stock car at Beeville, as they have expressed the sentiment that they hope to see this stock car run again at the next Texas Mile event!
