While the HPE600 package isn’t the top of the line package available that Hennessey offers for the 2015 Chevrolet SS, it still offers some pretty serious upgrades over the entry-level HPE550 upgrade. “This particular car dyno’d really well on 7 pounds of boost. And on a pump gas tune, it made 530 horsepower to the rear wheels, which is a solid 600+ horsepower at the crank.” – John Hennessey on the HPE600 package.

For comparison, the entry-level package Hennessey offers, known as the HPE550 package – is good for 550 horsepower at the crank, which is around 467.5 horsepower to the rear wheels using the 15 percent method.

To achieve those power levels in the SS, the package includes upgrades such as: ported cylinder heads, upgraded valvetrain parts, an HPE550 specific camshaft, and an HPE tuned engine management system, just to name a few.

The HPE600 package offers even more upgrades such as: a 2.3 liter supercharger, a custom HPE pulley system, high flow fuel injectors and fuel system upgrades, and of course an HPE tuned engine management system.

Both packages come available with a 3 year / 36,000 mile limited warranty, so you’ll have some peace of mind when you’re driving your 600+ horsepower SS down the drag strip.

“There are not a lot of SS’ in the US. I remember reading somewhere that Chevy brought in about 3,000 units for the first year. I feel very fortunate I’ve gotten one, it’s a great bang for the buck.
