Ah, the Genesis Coupe – the rear-wheel-drive car that Hyundai first built in 2008, this was the sporty, classy side of the Korean automaker that we didn’t know existed up until that point. In true fashion, however, Hyundai elected to keep production costs down on its sleek little automobile by limiting the engine options to just four- and six-cylinder offerings, though the sedan had an available V8.

For those of us who favor displacement over economy, however, it’s only right to swap in an LS to get this car to fit the bill as a real RWD performer. That’s pretty much the case behind the one seen in the above video, which had a classic Corvette-sourced LS1 swapped in to replace the feisty yet underwhelming turbo I4 (or Lambda V6).

With Google Translate’s “Translate Page to English?” webtool active and blazing fast, we dug deep into the nethers of internet to find out who was behind this glorious coupe’s conversion. We backtraced the code and found ourselves at Fixon (a.k.a. Pikseun) Korea, a custom tuning group out of Itaewon-dong, which is a suburb of Seoul.

Going by what we’re able to understand from Google’s stilted attempts at translation, the group’s Facebook description is as follows: “Hello. The Pikseun tuning. In our Pikseun possible performance tuning, custom tuning from simple gyeongjeongbi and has specialized in the field of work. Turbo engine upgrades and other details, mainly.”

Where words fail, however, the car demonstrates what we all have in common – a deep, abiding love of horsepower and torque. The LS1 gets put to good use toward the end of the video, whipping around an abandoned industrial site without a care in the world. Carry on, Fixon, carry on.
