If you have been reading this publication for any length of time, then you’re well aware that we love bringing you the hottest LS-swapped hot rods and musclecars that we can get our hands on for your viewing pleasure. We’ve seen everything from late-model Porsches to ’69 Camaros featuring our favorite alloy mill nestled between the shock towers.
It never gets old, and the LS Transplant Machines keep rolling out of garages all over the world. Now we bring you this ’68 Pontiac LeMans featuring an ’04 GTO-spec LS1 backed by a T-56, and topped off with plenty of bolt-ons and and enough attitude to fill a biker bar.
We ran across this video on YouTube, and in it we see the car’s builder, Tom Stark of Precision Designs, taking the old school Pontiac on a interesting test drive. When we say test drive, what we really mean is that Tom puts the LeMans through a test of burnouts, donuts, and a flat-out acceleration jaunt down the street.
Upon speaking with Stark, who built the car for Tom Ulrich, we learned that it has a complete Ridetech suspension package that’s been specifically set up for the autocross and road racing circuits. Adding a touch of blasphemy, a Ford 9-inch sits out back to handle all of the abuse that Ulrich throws at it. This big, mean & green monster sits on a set of Intro wheels (18-inch front, 20-inch, rear) to help keep the Pontiac glued in the corners.
There’s plenty of tire smoke, loud revving, and quick acceleration for even the most hard to impress gearhead. So if you have a few minutes to kill, check out the video above, and let us know what you think!
