Is it possible for car guys to get enough car movies? Never! We recently received press notice that yet another muscle car movie will soon hit the screens, only this one has been done in a complete 1970’s throwback style. The title of the movie is “White Mule” and stars supermodel Amber Smith and actor/director Peter Dobson.
The two cruise around in a ’71 Road Runner with a 605ci, 1,000-horsepower HEMI and a Talladega rake so steep that we haven’t seen one like it since the days when air shocks were on every hot rod in our high school parking lot.
As you may have guessed, the “white mule” reference is to that of the moonshine that the hero has chosen to drive around in the Road Runner. We’ll assume that any inferred references to Smokey and the Bandit or The Dukes of Hazzard are purely unintentional.
Mopar fans should enjoy seeing the Road Runner on screen, though they may cringe at watching it attempt to turn corners since 90 percent of its weight appears to be on the front wheels. The Road Runner is chased by a police officer driving a new Dodge Challenger.
Those in the Hollywood area are free to attend a free screening of the movie on February 22nd at the Regent Showcase Theater located at 614 N La Brea Hollywood, Ca. Peter Dobson and Amber Smith will be in attendance.
While the Road Runner caught our interest, we have to say that our interest may have drifted somewhat...
