Dodge recently invited Shaun Bailey, Road & Track Associate Engineering Editor, to drive the Dodge Viper ACR-X in the inaugural Viper Cup race at Virginia International Raceway.
“I knew the car would be fast and stick in the corners well; I just wasn’t prepared for how well. I’ve driven nearly every production car made since 2000, but nothing on the street compares to the lateral grip and cornering thrill of a real race car. And on top of that, the 640-horsepower V-10 pushed the Viper down the back straight to something approaching 170 mph… racetrack speeds I’m unfamiliar with.”
Take a lap around Virginia International Raceway in a Viper ACR with Bailey. The first Viper Cup race was held here and the track seems a lot shorter when you’re in a Viper.
