Video: This Pink Mustang Puts Out Some Serious Pony On The Dyno

bcamaroOne thing that many of us alleged grown ups will often say is that kids today get way cooler toys than what we had growing up. The cars are cooler, the games are more advanced, and, sadly, kids these days opt for something motorized over something that required physical exertion for motivation.

The jury’s still out on whether we’re disappointed or just jealous that we didn’t get more motorized modes of transportation when we were kids. But most of us probably wish we had such cool rides as kids – that didn’t require pedal-power.

Every Christmas day, there’s always a kid making a run up and down the block in their new motorized vessel, and it’s a far cry from the Little Tykes push car we used to see. These days, the cars are not just motorized, though, they’re actually patterned after modern vehicles, and they really do look like those vehicles, too.

barbie00We’ve seen the Jeeps, Ferraris, Mercedes’, Audis and the car in this video: the Mustang. Yes, we led you to believe that we were going to show you some wicked horsepower from the rear wheels of pink Mustang, but instead, we bring you the Barbie Power Wheels Mustang and it’s whopping .26 RWHP. Yes, this beast puts out some serious pony.

We found the video on YouTube by DBR High Performance, and after about three rounds of laughter here in the offices, we decided it was time to share it with our readers. We didn’t have very high expectations, but the execution – and the drama – had us all in stitches and wondering, “Why didn’t we do that?”

The video is definitely worth the time to watch, even until the very end where we learn that it’s never, ever, a good idea to stand in front of a high-horsepower car while it’s running on a dynamometer. Remember: Kids, don’t try this at home – this is a seasoned professional here.

As always, safety first: chock the front wheels, use the appropriate tie-downs, and don’t forget to keep that engine cool. The numbers don’t lie: 0.26 RWHP at 4.3 MPH, but dropped off to 0.13 at top end. We’re a little curious about the fact that it is running just a little rich, though. Perhaps some tuning and we could see a full 0.30 RWHP?
