First movie series are as well known or reviled by car enthusiasts as the seemingly endless sequels to the Fast and the Furious. What started as a simple story about an undercover cop and a bunch of ridiculous car analogies has blown up into an impossible-to-follow-plotline with no basis in reality whatsoever.
And yet people still keep paying to see these movies. So it is that the sixth entry into the Fast and the Furious series is heading our way.
Once again, the story is just an excuse to show pretty girls shaking their asses and overdone cars covered in stickers performing absurd automotive stunts. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but you’d think after a decade the writers would give Vin Diesel and and Paul Walker a break from bringing down the baddies, Fast and Furious style.
But nope, Vin, Paul, and the rest of the F&F crew are back, along with newcomer Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, who reprises his role as a Federal Marshall. Only this time, the Rock is on Diesel and Walker’s side as they try to stop some unknown villain from doing some villainy. Once again there are plenty of import tuners and even a sprinkling of American muscle, among them a rare and valuable Charger Daytona…which we can almost guarantee gets destroyed.
Look, this movie series is what it is, and if you’re into the Fast & the Furious, then rejoice! Because this movie looks like even more of the same. Sigh.
