One YouTube user summed up this video nicely: “Sorry kids, your rice isn’t the fastest thing on the road like the brochure says.” A GTR is nothing to take lightly, but it’s a little funny when a full size, extended cab Chevrolet Silverado beats it.
Right off the bat, this was a rolling start, which eliminates the need for a good start, so it ends up just being a battle of horsepower. Secondly, this is on the street which is never condoned by us, but the crime has already been committed.
To start, the truck is claiming 1,000 horsepower, at the wheels. This is accomplished with an LS motor and a massive PT94 turbocharger hanging off the side of it. A TH400 transmission backs this combo. Besides the wild graphics on the truck and the aftermarket rims, it appears to be fairly stock looking from the outside. The GTR is sporting an aftermarket intake and exhaust system to help the motor breath a bit.
In the first race, the truck’s turbo wasn’t spooled, and it lagged as the GTR quickly left him in the dust. However the next race, the truck was in the boost, and pulled the GTR with ease. Either way, both are impressive vehicles. But at the end of the day it’s Chevy on top in a full bodied Silverado!
