Video: Twin Supercharged 1965 Chevy Pickup Catches Eyes And Air!

Normally, when one selects a car to work on, there are a few options that immediately come to mind, like classic, pro street, pro touring and others. Consequently, it’s not often then that we are confronted with the “super” option: installing a massive powerplant topped with twin superchargers cranking out such ridiculous amounts of energy that driving the truck must feel something akin to flying a jet. This video of a ’65 Chevy pickup has that very style to it.

Scottie, of the ScottieDTV channel on YouTube, got the opportunity to meet with Bradley Gray, the owner of this ostentatious and high powered ’65 Chevy truck. Bradley gives us the nitty-gritty of the truck, explaining that it was just a body and frame when he first got it.

The view from the front is staggering, but not nearly so much as the explanation behind the dual superchargers!

He’s built up a Chevy 355 ci V-8 motor, equipped with an Eagle brand crankshaft and rods. The superchargers are set up in a bizarre fashion, and are obviously the most intriguing parts of this truck. The top one is set correctly, however, he reversed the lower supercharger so that the two can compound the air first before blowing air into the engine.

blownchevyrearAs to the other features of the truck, the front suspension was left alone, but the front wheels were given modern disc brakes. In the rear, you can see the fuel cell, nitrous bottle, and parachute bag, but according to Bradley, this is not a drag car, merely a driver. Also seen is stainless aluminum covering the entire bed.

Bradley had the truck painted a shade called Sheffield gray, but left the body in its original shape, as he wasn’t keen on chopping his Chevy.

Interestingly, Bradley has managed to get the glove box door signed by three big names of the drag racing world: the father and daughter power family of John and Ashley Force; as well as Greg Anderson, the Four-time NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock World Champion.

Bradley drives this truck everywhere. It isn’t a trailer queen, nor a drag racer. It’s simply a driver to cruise around town in. He’s proud of the work he’s done to it, and who wouldn’t be?
