If there is one country in the world that loves muscle cars as much as America does, it is Australia. With the wide open Outback never more than a few hours away, getting away from it all to let your engine cut loose for some serious driving is a favorite Aussie past time. With so many classic muscle cars still on Aussie streets though, the potential for a one-two crunch of classic metal is even more likely than here in the states.
Up on the YouTube is a dash-cam video of an incredible and sudden accident outside of Victoria, Australia, on the Southern edge of the continent. It’s a nasty, inescapable accident between a classic Ford Falcon XY GT and a Holden EK sedan, taking out two amazing Aussie muscle cars in one fell swoop.
If all you want to see is the accident, skip ahead to the one-minute mark. What was an idyllic drive through the Aussie back country becomes a scary accident in a matter of seconds, as the Ford Falcon powerslides across traffic and directly into the path of the Holden. The driver barely has time to steer away before the Falcon slams into the sedan, nearly flipping it off the road.
Thankfully nobody seems to have been seriously injured, and the driver keeps enough control of the sedan to make sure they don’t go crashing through some fencing. What was to be a nice day out in the country snapping some pictures of some muscle cars nearly turned deadly. Hopefully though the damage wasn’t too severe, and these cars will be repaired, and their owners a bit more cautious.
