If you’ve never been to a Goodguys event to watch the autocross events, this video is a great representation of what you see in person. Fast cuts of high performance Chevy engines growling, accompanied by screeching tires and the smell and fog of burnt aromatic hydrocarbons. From the exhaust bass bouncing off of your chest to the deep smell of combustion, the Autocross event is a crowd attracting and the most entertaining part of these car shows.

Looking carefully at this video we identified all the most popular autocross drivers ranging from Brad Coomer in his 1970 Chevy C-10 Pick-up  to Cheryl Herrick’s 1967 Chevy II Nova.

“Bad” Brad Coomer, the 2012 Goodguys Sponsor Shootout Champion in Columbus, Ohio, has been competing for over 8 years, currently drives his ’70 C-10 sporting a Hilton Motorsports stroked out LS with NOS and Bowler Performace 4L80E Transmission. Coomer’s suspension is a stock frame with No Limit Engineering front cross member and control arms, modified truck arm rear suspension, Willwood wide 5 hubs & brakes, RideTech “TQ” coilovers and  Falken Azenis RT-615K tires.

Cheryl “Ponytail Racer” Herrick has just over two years in the autocross arena but already claims the Goodguys Overall AutoCross Champion at Colorado with her Nova II. Powering the Nova is a fairly stock LS Engine on a full DSE suspension with B.F. Goodrich tires and is sponsored by Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings.

Carrying the torch for the sport is 35-year autocross veteran Mary Pozzi. The 11-time SCCA Solo National Champion is behind the wheel of her 1972 Camaro RS with Lingenfelter LS7.
