Vintage automotive ads have always put a smile on our faces. Not only are they a reminder of a time where terms like “political-correctness” and “sexism” didn’t exist, but they were just so much cooler than the watered down advertisements of today.
We just dug up this magazine ad from 1973 featuring Holley Big Grabber tires. What makes them of particular interest to us is the fact that they’re wrapped around a set of Mickey Thompson wheels on a ’70-72 Corvette street machine.
The ad gives specific details about the tires themselves, including available sizes, each series, along with then then latest roller offerings from M/T. It almost makes us want to get a set of chrome reverse wheels for one of our projects.
Many of our older readers may remember this ad from back in the day, while the rest of us can only imagine what it was like to be able to enjoy these cars, and these advertisements, when they were new.
