How much is someone willing to spend when it comes to owning a piece of history? Apparently, it’s a lot more than you’d think as was the conclusion during the Barrett-Jackson auction. Case in point, Lot #452.2 at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction sold yesterday. The lot consisted of a white 1969 Camaro Coupe with black interior.

According to the detail release, the Camaro still had the original 350ci/300hp V8 engine and four speed transmission, with power brakes and power steering. Sporting a cowl hood, the super clean Camaro was outfitted with OE rally wheels and BF Goodrich TA tires.

Complete with the original AM radio and AC Delco’s fresh air “Astro Ventilation,” the Camaro even retained it’s center console with Rally pack gauges. Topping off the list of OEM goodies was the GM 12-bolt rearend.

We’d like to say that it was all original but the car had been subjected to an earlier “frame-off” restoration which took it back to factory standards.

Our interest was peaked when the Camaro hit the auction block. What is a numbers matching ’69 Camaro Coupe worth in this market? We got our answer when the gavel banged at $30,250. Considering the original factory price for a two door ’69 Coupe with V8 was $2,727, the Camaro has held it’s value as one of the most loved muscle cars of it’s period.
