GM’s hot truck and SUV history can be traced back to the insane-for-the-nineties turbocharged Syclone pickup and Typhoon SUV. The Typhoon’s spiritual successor, the TrailBlazer SS, provides the foundation for Project SSleeper. With V8 power provided by the Corvette-sourced LS2 engine, a lowered and stiffened suspension right off the showroom floor, and the ambition to be a true sports truck.

Of course we can’t leave anything alone, so we’re making our TBSS handle and launch better with new rubber and an upgraded suspension, and we have some powerplant upgrades in the pipeline as well. Our goal is to make this the perfect vehicle for when you want to fill three of your closest friends with pants-soiling terror on a Costco run.
