A 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible and a white 1961 Plymouth Fury convertible were featured on the popular film noir-style dramatic television series, Peter Gunn, from 1959 to 1961.
Peyton Place featured many cars during its run, including several years of Dodge and Plymouth, with makes that included the Belvedere, Coronet, Dart, Fury, Polara, Savoy, and even a Sport Suburban.
When Pontiac introduced the 2+2 in 1964, it was a trim package featuring a 389 two-barrel, bucket seats, and console. But from 1965-67, the 2+2 was the GTO's big brother. With standard 421 and available Tri-Power it was fast, but the market wasn't demanding large performance cars and the 2+2 was discontinued.
