Energy Suspension has spent over 25 years specializing in polyurethane bushings to deal with vibration in engines and chassis, so it’s hard to imagine that every year there is a new bushing – yet there always is a newer, and more refined kit or set of bushings from this industry leader. We stopped by the Energy Suspension booth at this year’s PRI tradeshow to find out what awaits enthusiasts in 2015.
Michael Santa Cruz, Energy Suspension’s Director of Marketing, led us over to the new products display where a 2015 Mustang IRS rear end suspension bushing set was visible. “This package delivers better handling characteristics,” said Santa Cruz.
The kit consists of Hyper-Flex polyurethane bushings for the rear control arms, sway bar, differential and subframe. “More rigidity leads to more control,” explained Santa Cruz. “There are a lot of pickup points in this system. We take the soft rubber bushings and replace them with firmer ones. Not only are they firmer but they won’t wear out like rubber.”

Santa Cruz also pointed out a new Mustang transmission mount insert for 2011-2015 Mustang V8’s with manual transmissions. Designed as a two-piece insert, this piece reinforces the OE rubber mount. “This helps firm up the mount and reduce torsional flex. You’ll see improved shifting,” claimed Santa Cruz.
Not wanting to ignore the Mopar fans, Santa Cruz pointed out Energy Suspension’s kit for Dodge Challenger suspensions. Polyurethane bushings for the front and rear sway bars, front and rear control arms, rear differential and sub-frame mounts are in the kit. “The payoff comes on the road course or launching hard,” said Santa Cruz. “You can get more power to the ground by stabilizing the suspension.”
