The fifth installment of The Fast and the Furious series hits theaters this Friday, which means more hot chicks, fast cars, and ridiculous Hollywood camera magic are coming to the silver screen. While we’re sure the producers have gone to great lengths to keep the movie under wraps, it’s hard to keep a good scoop buried, which is why we were able to see pictures from on set before the first trailer had even been released.
So it is no surprise that the climatic chase scene featuring the two blacked-out Dodge Chargers hauling a huge safe down a crowded street has hit YouTube before it hit theaters. However, it is a little unsettling to hear Vin Diesel’s character Dom speaking in French.
Yes, French. This looks to be the final cut of the chase scene where everything comes to head, but dubbed over in French (and with French subtitles? WTF?) We’ve already seen a lot of the footage from this scene in the endless commercials that seem to play on a loop during late night television, and we’re pretty damn sure even two 2011 Charger R/T’s couldn’t tow a bank vault down a busy street.
But it makes for some great action, and as an added bonus Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson crashes an armored truck through the wall of a police station and then says something we’re sure is quote-worthy…in French. The scene cuts off rather abruptly so we don’t get to see how it turns out (we bet they get away though!) so if you don’t mind spoiling what is probably the best four minutes of the whole movie (besides those fine Brazilian booties) then take a gander at this brief clip. Or you could just wait to Friday and see this train wreck in theaters, but why do that?
