All over America there are hundreds of thousands of classic cars that are off the grid, languishing in some barn, field, or desert. These “cars in barns” have become famous thanks to “barn find” auctions that draw big bucks, and the efforts of journalists and bloggers like Ryan Brutt, who runs the Cars In Barns blog.
It was over at his blog that we came across this post about Brutt’s recent visit to a car-filled field that had this amazing automotive oddity; a shrunken Dodge Dart.
One rusty, worn-out car tends to attract another and another. So it was that Mr. Brutt found himself crawling through a field, camera in hand, checking out all sorts of other rides. Among his finds were a ‘68 Pontiac GTO droptop and an early 70’s Oldsmobile Cutlass that may have been a 442 model.
But the real treasure was a custom ‘68 Dodge Dart shruken by a substantial amount. it looks like the entire front seat was removed, and the rear seat and roof brought forward to meet the windshield. It looks awkward, and tight…but it’s still pretty damn cool if you ask us. Can you imagine driving this contraption to work one day?
Make sure you check out Ryan’s awesome blog for lots of pictures and stories of his barn finds from around America.
